From where does the function getElements() of IStructuredContentProvider get a call?

From where does the function getElements() of IStructuredContentProvider
get a call?

I am trying to create a custom JFace Viewer. I simply want to know that
from does the function getElements() receive call after we set the
content-provider and moder-provider?
